Dublin is home to some of the world's finest pubs , with one never more than a 10-minute walk away.

While many of the most renowned and bustling pubs are located in the city center , there are even better spots to be found if you're willing to venture a bit further out.

Here are just five of the top pubs located outside of Dublin's city center .

Best pubs outside Dublin's city center

    Gravedigger's

Among the Irish, it's almost become a running joke that Gravedigger's is such an exceptional pub. Ask anyone where to find the perfect pint of Guinness , and Gravedigger's is likely to be their first suggestion. And rightly so.

This unique spot, slightly off the beaten path, serves up what may well be the best pint of plain you'll ever taste.

    The Blue Light

The Blue Light could be one of Ireland's most unique bars.

The first sip of your drink after you've hiked, cycled or driven up to the pub - while taking in the stunning views - might just be one of the best you'll ever experience.

    McGowans

McGowans might be the most fun bar on this list, as it could even be considered a late-night bar or nightclub, depending on how you define it.

Their pub quizzes are famous throughout the county, often attracting hundreds of participants.

    The Goat

The Goat, located in one of Dublin's more upscale areas, is a bit of a trek from the city centre. However, if you're on the hunt for a pleasant beer garden, it could be worth making the trip to Stillorgan.

This charming pub even features a live goat, adding a unique touch that aligns with its name, and it's truly gorgeous when the sun is shining.

    Gibney's

Situated in the coastal town of Malahide, Gibney's has been a local favorite since 1937. This historic pub holds a special place in the hearts of locals and has even recently expanded to New York City .
