A new sauna by the sea experience gives tourists another reason to visit an underrated corner of Ireland. Co Antrim is famous for attractions like the Giant's Causeway and the bustling city of Belfast .

However, tourists don't often venture outside of these hotspots to experience the true beauty of this part of Northern Ireland . The Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge and the Causeway Coastal Route are just a couple of examples of things that are largely overlooked by tourists.

Now, there's yet another reason for travelers to discover this underrated part of the Emerald Isle . Hastings Hotels' latest immersive experience at Ballygally Castle has just been announced and it seems perfect for those who are looking to switch off during their time in Ireland.

Nestled along the Co Antrim coast, the hotel has just announced its 'Sauna by the Sea' overnight package that combines a blend of cold-water immersion and soothing sauna therapy. Building on the success of last year’s popular ‘Sea Dips & Hot Sips’ experience, this new package encourages guests to make the most of Ballygally Castle’s breathtaking location on the Causeway Coastal Route.

"Ballygally Castle is an ideal setting for anyone seeking a blend of adventure and relaxation amidst some of Northern Ireland’s most picturesque landscapes," said Matt McRoberts, Head of Marketing at Hastings Hotels. "The benefits of open-water swimming and cold-water immersion are well-recognized for promoting mental clarity and calming the nervous system.

"Pairing this with the immediate warmth of a sauna intensifies the effects, enhancing blood flow, detoxifying the body, and promoting overall wellness - from improved circulation and muscle recovery to reduced stress and a stronger immune system."

Ballygally Castle is located 26 miles from Belfast and boasts 18 coastal view rooms, including 6 family rooms, and offers a total of 54 luxurious accommodations. It is also the largest hotel on the Causeway coastline.

Meanwhile, it is the only 17th-century building still in use as a residence in Northern Ireland today, dating back to 1625. Nearby attractions include Carrickfergus Castle, a well-preserved Norman fortress, and Carnfunnock Country Park, a 191-hectare park designed for strolls among blooming flowers.

The 'Sauna by the Sea' Experience at Ballygally Castle is priced from €223 (around $248 USD) for two people.
