McDonald’s recently added a new burger to their menu that aims to satisfy customers' demands for more affordable, more convenient, and more filling options.

The Big Arch Burger debuted in three markets this week , including Canada, ahead of a potential worldwide rollout. McDonald’s announced the ‘BIG menu addition’ in a release, describing it as two quarter-pound beef patties, three slices of white processed cheese, the classic assortment of pickles, onions, and lettuce, plus crispy onions, and a tangy new Big Arch sauce, all served on a toasted sesame and poppy seed bun.

The Big Arch retails for $9.99 in Canada (around $7.50 in U.S. dollars) and is designed to ‘feed the extra hungry.’

According to customers, it does just that. Emily Latimer, a reporter from Eat This Not That, gave her review of the burger with fine detail about its presentation, taste and value.

She compared the burger to a fan favorite, writing, “When I received my order, I expected it to be similar to a Big Mac in size, but I was dead wrong: it was huge! For context, the Big Arch is listed at 1,030 calories, while the Big Mac is only around half that: 570 calories.”

Latimer continued that the Big Arch is ‘what a Big Mac should be.” She said that the new zesty orange sauce looks similar to their famous Mac sauce but is “tangier and creamier.” She credited the larger patties for creating a juicer and more flavorful burger.

Overall, Latimer concluded that the burger is a hit, and she would not be surprised if the success in Canada inspires McDonald’s in North America to add it to their menus.
