Rapper Fatman Scoop has tragically passed away after collapsing on stage during a performance on Friday night.

The renowned New York artist, aged 53, was in the midst of entertaining at the Green and Gold Party, a complimentary event in Hamden, Connecticut, when he seemed to experience a "medical emergency."

Harrowing footage captured the shirtless Fatman Scoop hyping up the crowd at Town Center Park, before collapsing out of the audience's view.

According to people in attendance, people could be seen performing chest compressions behind the screen of the DJ.

According to New York Post, Fatman Scoop was stretchered off the stage and transported to a local hospital, where he died.
