Scottie Scheffler bagged the Tour Championship's FedEx Cup last weekend, pocketing a staggering $25 million , but it looks like it's about to get even better for him .

He looks set to rake in an additional $10 million before the season ends without even swinging a club .

Scheffler has chalked up seven PGA Tour victories this year, amassing $53 million in prize money throughout the 2024 campaign. He is also poised to win another $10 million from the Player Impact Program.

The Player Impact Program distributes around $40 million per season to golf's top-10 ranked players, with the leader of the rankings most likely to take home the lion's share.

Launched in 2020/21, the program rewards those who have the most positive influence on the tour. Factors such as internet searches and social media reach are used to determine who has made the biggest splash.

Despite criticism that it's merely a popularity contest, the prize pool has been cut from $100m (£79m) for the top 20 players to $50m (£39m) for the top 10. The winner will now pocket $10m (£8m), down from the $15m Rory McIlroy bagged in 2023.

Scheffler wrapped up his season in grand style at the Tour Championship in Atlanta, leading by two shots after starting at 10-under-par following his remarkable campaign. The American finally ended his wait to win the tournament, finishing at an astounding 30-under-par, entering the final round with a five-shot lead as Colin Morikawa looked to challenge him for the title.

Scottie Scheffler remained unflappable amidst the pressure to card a four-under 67 in the final round, securing the Tour Championship by a comfortable four strokes and claiming the FedEx Cup. Emotional scenes unfolded at the 18th as the 28-year-old celebrated his victory with his young son Bennett and wife Meredith, while the crowd cheered his weekend triumph and his stellar performances throughout the year 2024.

Reflecting on his whirlwind year after the victory, Scheffler shared: "I feel like I've lived almost a full lifetime in this one year. It's been nuts. I don't know, I think it just always comes back to my faith. I think that's the thing that just keeps me grounded, keeps me in the right frame of mind."

On clinching the Gold medal at the Olympics, he remarked: "Yeah, I think the gold medal is pretty cool. I think when you hear people chanting 'U-S-A' - even though it's been over a month now since it happened, you still hear people talking about it, chanting."
