Gary Neville slams 'unprofessional' Liverpool star - and Jamie Carragher agrees

Gary Neville didn't mince his words when criticizing one of Liverpool's star men during their resounding Premier League victory over Manchester United , labeling the midfielder "unprofessional" on Sky Sports.

Liverpool continued their flawless start under Arne Slot with a commanding 3-0 win at Old Trafford. Luis Diaz scored twice, and Mohamed Salah added another goal against the Red Devils, extending his remarkable scoring run.

The Reds could have inflicted even more damage on a lacklustre United team. Trent Alexander-Arnold had a goal disallowed for offside earlier, and only a series of desperate tackles stopped United from conceding more.

In the second half, with the score already at 3-0, Szoboszlai wasted a golden opportunity to get his name on the scoresheet. After a strong build-up on the right wing, the ball found the Hungarian star in the penalty area, but he failed to score.

He delayed too long before shooting, and when he finally decided to take the shot, he chose to cut back instead, allowing United to regain possession. This came shortly after Erik ten Hag's side had shown a warning sign at the other end, posing a rare threat to Liverpool's goal.

Sky Sports commentators Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher were perplexed by Szoboszlai's decision during the game. "What is he doing? Just finish it. [He's] trying to be cocky," Carragher commented.

Neville then added his two cents: "He's messing around there; he should be absolutely rollicked by his teammates for that - that's a liberty."

Carragher didn't mince his words, branding Szoboszlai's actions as "absolutely ridiculous". Neville joined in with his own criticism, stating: "Something like that I call unprofessional [if] you do it in training, let alone in a match at Old Trafford when you're 3-0 up."
