Shane Lowry and Rory McIlroy concluded their PGA Tour seasons, each earning a hefty $1,608,333 from the Tour Championship . The Irish duo tied for ninth place at East Lake Golf Club, securing a significant portion of the $100m bonus pool for the FedEx Cup playoffs finale.

Lowry 's rounds of 69, 69, 65, and 68 resulted in a tournament finish on 16-under-par, matching his Olympic teammate McIlroy , whose final round of 66 was his best of the week.

The FedEx Cup title and the colossal $25,000,000 first prize were claimed by American golfer, Scottie Scheffler . The world number one comfortably secured a four-shot victory over Collin Morikawa, marking his seventh title of a dominant season on the PGA Tour.

McIlroy, who won twice on the PGA Tour this season , finished with total earnings, including the FedEx Cup bonus, of $12,501,000. Lowry, on the other hand, who teamed up with McIlroy to win the Zurich Classic, ends his PGA Tour season $7,703,000 richer, reports the Irish Mirror .

Both players plan to take a break next week before competing in the Irish Open at Royal County Down.
