An expert has pinpointed the exact moment Prince Harry seemed to become a 'grumpy spare ' as his wife Meghan Markle enjoyed the limelight during their recent trip to Colombia.

It's been reported that Harry is feeling increasingly "more and more isolated" following the couple's highly anticipated visit to South America, where he often appeared in Meghan's shadow. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex embarked on what was described as a DIY Royal tour to Colombia in mid-August.

Meghan was the focus of attention throughout the trip, particularly when she delivered a speech on female empowerment at an event for Afro-Colombian women. A Royal expert has suggested that the entire Colombian journey was "created about Meghan" especially noticeable during one of the formal lunches they attended.

The Sun's Royal editor, Matt Wilkinson, speaking to True Royalty TV's The Royal Beat, said: "A lot of it was about Meghan. A lot of the images and the words sent out to us via the [Sussex] press office, [not] just by a pool reporter... it was all about Meghan. The whole thing was created about Meghan."

He added, "And when you saw the footage that was filmed by people at the dinners or people who were there that weren't part of this press pool, they showed a slightly different picture. Harry looked a little bit grumpy. May I use his vocabulary - he perhaps looked a bit like 'the spare'," reports the Mirror .

Insiders close to the couple have revealed that despite presenting a united front during their tour, Prince Harry was "sulky" and "in the background". A source told The Sun that his wife took center stage and stole the show, appearing "comfortable stepping into the spotlight."

They added: "Harry is feeling more and more isolated in California , which is why he has been reconnecting with old friends back home. The Colombia trip also really highlighted how Meghan is comfortable stepping into the spotlight, while Harry cuts a very sulky, unhappy figure in the background. He wants to carve out a way back into royal life back in the UK and is seeking counsel from old friends and associates."

Reports suggest that Harry has been sending WhatsApp messages to several friends in the UK who are ready and willing to help him return from his American exile. According to The Mail on Sunday, the prince has been consulting people "from his old life" as a working Royal after reportedly becoming dissatisfied with advice received from US-based PR experts.

A source says the Duke is reportedly "turning away from all sorts of Hollywood publicists" and is instead "seeking counsel from his old friends and associates". This comes as Harry and Meghan have parted ways with yet another American PR adviser - only weeks after their chief of staff quit three months into his role.

Harry is thought to have reached out to a trusted, discreet individual "from the old school". A friend has allegedly devised a strategy for Harry's reintegration into UK circles, potentially involving "very low-key royal duties."

The source added that this friend "believes if Harry returns to the UK without any fuss, avoids publicity, and attends very mundane events, he could prove himself and regain the affection of the British public."
