Harrowing video shows Apalachee High School students running from active shooter in Georgia

A Georgia high school is currently under a severe lockdown following reports of an active shooter on the premises .

A video appeared to show students running from the premises.

Numerous calls were made about a shooting incident at Apalachee High School in Barrow County, Georgia, late Wednesday morning. The school was swiftly put on a strict lockdown in response to the reports.

A helicopter was seen circling over the school as police responded to the situation and one victim is reported to have been airlifted.

Eyewitnesses and people who tuned into a livestream saw a large police presence at the scene, and there were also at least a dozen ambulances and firetrucks.

Concerned parents took to social media to voice their panic about the situation, while footage on social media shows the extent of the chaos at the troubling scene.
