    Active shooter at Georgia high school as terrified parents say 'they won't let me see my children'

    Apalachee High School in Georgia is currently under lockdown after reports emerged of an 'active shooter' on the premises.

    The school, which is part of the Barrow County Public Schools district, has around 1,900 students enrolled according to data from US News and World Report.

    Emergency services have dispatched a significant number of officers to the scene , with numerous ambulances and police vehicles spotted outside the educational facility . There are suspicions of multiple injuries, and it appears that at least one individual has been airlifted from the site.

    The local community is rapidly sharing updates about the situation across various social media channels.

    Brittany Lewis expressed her concern on Facebook, stating: "Active shooter is at my kid's school Apalachee High School one has been reported shot I don't know if it's a teacher or student."

    "I'm on the school ground law enforcement is here please pray for us they won't let me in to my children please pray for us please."

    In another Facebook update, Kim Atha Carter reported: "There's an active shooter at Apalachee High School. 4 dead . 7 shot. Two teachers were shot. My neighbors are teachers there. Please pray."
