    Apalachee school shooter Colt Gray will be tried as an adult after 'killing four' and injuring 30 including special ed teacher

    Tragedy struck at Apalachee High School when a 14-year-old student at the school named Colt Grey unleashed chaos in the Georgia school . The school in Barrow County was gripped by in terror as the teen embarked on a violent spree, killing four and injuring 30 .

    Multiple emergency units sprang into action, with several ambulances, a fleet of police officers, and a medical helicopter swarming the site. The medical helicopter was seen airlifting critically injured individuals, and local hospitals began admitting shooting victims shortly after.

    At least four people have lost their lives and another 30 have been wounded . Yet, it is unclear if all the injuries stemmed from gunfire.

    The shooter has since been detained, confirmed by the Barrow County Sheriff's Office, which also acknowledged the fatalities.

    Parents frantic for updates turnedto social media in an effort to glean the latest news. Distressed parent Brittany Lewis took to Facebook to relay her fear: "Active shooter is at my kid's school Apalachee High School one has been reported shot I don't know if it's a teacher or student."

    Her plea continued, revealing the anguish of the moment: "I'm on the school ground law enforcement is here please pray for us they won't let me in to my children please pray for us please."

    Governor Brian Kemp promptly enacted an emergency plan, roping in "all available state resources" to safeguard the facility, while federal might from the FBI accelerated the response.

    Representing the FBI Atlanta unit, Tony Thomas confirmed their involvement, stating: "FBI Atlanta is aware of the situation at Apalachee High School. Our agents are on site, working in coordination with and supporting local law enforcement."

    Home to approximately 1,900 students, the institution falls under the Barrow County Public Schools system, as reported by US News and World Report.
