Irish actor Andrew Scott has landed a role in an upcoming sci-fi romance film. The movie is scheduled to begin filming early next year.

The film titled My Notes on Mars , will star Scott and Past Lives’ actress Greta Lee as a married couple. The story follows Margot (Lee), a young scientist stuck in a troubled marriage, who disappears on a hiking trip with her husband Sam (Scott). • Scott accepts the role off the back of the hugely successful film All of Us Strangers, also part of the sci-fi romance genre. In the film, Scott stars opposite Paul Mescal , and revisits his childhood home where his parents appear to be living, despite having died in a tragic accident years prior.

Scott captivated audiences with his moving portrayal of grief and love. He is also currently nominated for two Emmy awards, for his performance in the Netflix series, Ripley.

My Notes on Mars is the first English-language project undertaken by renowned Hungarian filmmaker Lili Horvát. The award-winning director spoke to Deadline, saying that the film is “a story about the labyrinthine human psyche, about the ever-changing faces of love”.

“To start over a marriage, to rediscover the other, to fall in love again – our story is about the grueling realization of this impossible desire.”
