Apalachee school shooter said three chilling words moments after arrest

Shortly after his apprehension for the tragic shooting at a Georgia high school, suspect Colt Gray admitted three chilling words to authorities .

As per CNN, despite being read his Miranda rights, Gray, formerly a student at the scene of the crime, Apalachee High School, kept conversing with investigators .

Remarkably, Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith reported that the youth continued speaking even post-Miranda rights briefing , saying: "I did it" to authorities.

In an unrelated turn of events, Colt's dad, 54-year-old Colin Grey, was arrested on Thursday with a slew of felony accusations in tow, including dual second-degree murder charges and quartet counts of involuntary manslaughter.

In a harrowing scenario, an Apalachee school educator was fatally shot and witnessed by students 'crawling' before taking his last breath.

CNN disclosed that according to officials, Gray's father told them he had bought the firearm as a festive gift for his son. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation briefed the press on Thursday mentioning that charges against the father were based on him "knowingly allowing" his son Colt unchecked access to guns.

In addition, Colt and his father went through interviews conducted by the FBI and local authorities concerning prior online threats made by Gray to carry out a school shooting.

The threats were allegedly made on the social media site Discord but police and the FBI Atlanta Field Office said they did not have enough probable cause to arrest Gray for this incident. The FBI tip centred an email on the site associated with Colt Gray.

Following the shooting investigators searched Gray's bedroom and found evidence the young teen was "obsessed" with school shootings. This included specifically the 2018 Parkland, Florida shooting that left 17 people dead.

According to the Barrow County Sheriff's Office Gray had just enrolled in the school two weeks prior to the shooting and Wednesday was supposed to be his first "real day" at the school.

Gray is currently being held at a juvenile detention centre and is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Friday morning and will be charged as an adult.
