Marjorie Taylor Greene is advocating for more “good guys with guns” to combat school shooters in the US following the Apalachee High School tragedy.

The US representative in Georgia’s 14th district has long been a vocal supporter of firearms , even after the most recent shooting in Georgia.

Colt Gray, 14, has been charged with four counts of felony murder in relation to the Wednesday school shooting in Winder, Georgia.

The incident took four lives – 14-year-old students Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, and teachers Richard Aspinwall, 39, and Christina Irimie, 53 – and injured nine others. His father Colin Gray, who bought his son the assault rifle for Christmas, has also been charged with involuntary manslaughter, second-degree murder and cruelty to children.

Greene is back defending guns on One America News Network's Real America. She said the answer to ending school shootings is having more armed people to protect against attackers.

She recounted an experience when she was in high school of a student bringing in guns.

"When I was sixteen years old, starting 11th grade in Georgia, Joe Biden then-Senator made schools gun-free zones. And at my own school, September sixth of that year, I'll never forget it, one of my fellow students brought three guns to school and our school went on lockdown.

"And it was because no one there was able to defend us from a student bringing guns into school and into his classroom.

"I know what that means. I know that reality as a student, I also know what it's like as a parent to drop your kids off in a public school not knowing if that will happen and it's tragic."

She said students need to be protected the “same way Kamala Harris, Joe Biden and all our politicians are protected,” and that’s “good guys with guns.”

She continued: “And we always need to make sure we support our Second Amendment and not disarm legal gun owners simply because a madman with a gun chose to go in and murder people.”

Some studies have suggested the opposite. Matthew Mayer, a professor at Rutgers Graduate School of Education, told NPR he’s been studying school violence since before the Columbine shooting, and arming teachers has shown to be a bad idea.

He said: “...it invites numerous disasters and problems, and the chances of it actually helping are so minuscule."

A 2018 Gallup poll found the majority of teachers do not wish to carry guns in schools.

Unless you're fighting for the U.S.A., over 18, and In the military, you have no business owning, using, and firing any kind of assault weapon without complete supervision However, MTG !!! In my opinion,14, 15, 16, or 17 year olds, HAVE NO BUSINESS BEING TAUGHT HOW TO USE ONE... I served in the Army for several years back when I turned 17 years old and had to have a signed parental document in order to join that young and fire any hand gun, the M-16, hand grenades, and the 21? law...
