    James Earl Jones, the actor famed for his iconic voice roles in Star Wars and The Lion King, has passed away at the age of 93. His representatives at Independent Artist Group confirmed the sad news to Deadline.

    He died on Monday morning at his home in Duchess County, New York. The esteemed actor had a career spanning several decades in Hollywood, voicing legendary characters like Darth Vader and Mufasa, and is also well-known for his role in Field of Dreams.

    Fans are devastated as they mourn the loss of this much-loved actor.

    Born on January 17, 1931, in Arkabutla, Mississippi, Jones was known for his powerful presence and versatility as a performer. He had a distinguished career spanning over six decades, and his contributions to the arts earned him numerous accolades, including an honorary Academy Award, Tony Awards, and Emmy Awards.

    His voice work is legendary, but he has also had an impressive stage and screen career, with notable roles in films like Dr. Strangelove , The Great White Hope (for which he earned an Academy Award nomination), and Field of Dreams .

    Despite a childhood stutter that made him nearly mute for several years, Jones overcame this challenge and went on to become one of the most recognizable voices in entertainment history.
