Netflix star Eve Hewson ‘in talks’ for Steven Spielberg's closely guarded 2026 project after The Perfect Couple success

Eve Hewson is being lined up for a Steven Spielberg’s much-anticipated 2026 film.

The Irish actor daughter of U2 frontman and global activist, Bono , is said to be the latest big name to star in The Dish , Steven Spielberg's closely guarded project due out in 2026. Eve, who was most recently seen in Netflix mini-series The Perfect Couple, Hewson was said to be in 'early talks' to appear in the Star War's creator's latest offering, according to Deadline.

It is believed Eve will join Emily Blunt, Colin Firth and Josh O'Connor on the short list of actors who are expected to be in the running to star in Spielberg's first movie since his 2022 drama The Fabelmans.

The Dish was previously billed as a 'new original event film' - during a July IMAX presentation. Universal Pictures has not confirmed that title as yet, but it's one of several outlets including IMDb that are sticking with it for now.

It will come as a confidence booster for Eve, who has admitted she never knew whether people only liked her because of her very famous father.

The 33-year-old has had a very impressive career thus far, boasting roles in hit Apple TV+ show, Bad Sisters , and Oscar-nominated film, Flora and Son . She may soon become a household name on both sides of the pond when she stars in the upcoming Netflix murder mystery series The Perfect Wife opposite Hollywood legend Nicole Kidman.

Beneath it all, though, Hewson admits she was affected growing up "among rock stars and supermodels," one of them being her international musician dad. This rang true particularly when it came to friendships.

Hewson always wondered whether people were only friends with her because of her dad, she revealed to the New York Times. As a result, the actor learned not to rely on the validation of others , and to know who she was.

“When people come up to me and say, ‘You’re the crazy wife from that show on Netflix,’ I’m like, ‘Oh, you’re actually recognising me and my work,’” They probably have no idea of the connection o r don’t even care . It’s a nice feeling.”

Hewson recently fired back at claims she is a "nepo baby" - a term often ascribed to her - with a 13-word slap down. She doesn't shy away from the fact that having a famous dad helped her on the road to stardom , though.

A tutor she had while touring with U2, an aspiring filmmaker, cast her in a short which was her first acting gig . Hewson was determined that pursuing a career that could bring its own fame and attention wouldn't hold her back.
