A tragic incident in Arizona saw a 4-year-old girl lose her life after being found unconscious in a car with an internal temperature of at least 130 degrees . As reported by AZ Family, Buckeye Police received a distress call around 5 pm on Sunday about an unconscious child discovered in a parked car outside a residence.

The investigators revealed that a large family had traveled to a nearby park in a small SUV and returned home between 2:30 and 3:30 pm. Upon realizing the 4-year-old was missing a few hours later, they checked the car and found her unconscious inside , prompting them to call the police. Despite attempts to save her life, the girl was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

Buckeye Police Public Information Officer Carissa Planalp expressed the difficulty of such incidents, stating: "Calls like these are difficult for everyone involved: the families, the first responders, and the community. Nobody wants to hear this news," She further emphasized the dangers of extreme heat, saying: "In this extreme heat, temperatures are nothing to play with, and time is absolutely of the essence," reports the Mirror US .

  • A young girl was found in a car with an internal temperature of 130 degrees, while the outside temperature was recorded at 107 degrees, according to police reports. Detectives are currently interviewing the family to establish a timeline of events.

No arrests have been made at this time. This tragic incident marks the third child hot car death in Arizona this year and the 31st across the US, as per data from Kids and Car Safety.

Earlier in July, a two-year-old girl tragically lost her life after being left in a scorching car during the state's triple-digit temperatures. The toddler was intentionally left in the vehicle by her father after returning home from running errands one afternoon, Marana Police Capt. Tim Brunenkant reported.

He stated that the father had left the air conditioning on and the car running. After spending between 30 to 60 minutes inside his home, the father returned to find the car turned off, Brunenkant added. The father immediately called 911 when he discovered his two-year-old daughter unresponsive.

She was rushed to hospital where she was later pronounced dead, according to police reports. The temperature in Marana soared to a scorching 111 degrees, with the nearby city of Tucson, where an extreme heat warning is in place. Brunenkant described the incident as a "heat-related tragedy."

According to KidsAndCars.org, since 1990, at least 1,093 children have died in overheated cars, with around 88 percent of these deaths involving children aged 3 or younger.
