Will Smith's Independence Day co-star has teased another sequel to the hit movie - but there's one condition.

They would have to secure the Oscar-winning actor first , says Hollywood veteran Vivica. A.Fox. The Kill Bill actress, who starred alongside Will Smith - who has been banned from the Oscars for infamously slapping Chris Rock - and Jeff Goldblum in the 1996 cult classic, has opened up about the chance of getting in front of the camera with her leading man again.

Independence Day was a box office smash when it hit theatres and was followed up with Independence Day 2, several years later. In the sequel Will's character had been killed off, yet fans calling for a Quentin Tarantino style flash back movie depicting the stars in their early years leading up to their first battle with the aliens from outer space.

In an exclusive chat, Vivica, who played Smith's wife in Independence Day, said she'd love to do Independence Day 3. She said: "If they get Will Smith, absolutely. That’s what they should have done for Part two. I would love to work again with Will Smith."

Speaking at the Soul Film Festival in London ahead of the release of her hot new movie The Lost Holliday with Empire co-star Jussie Smollett, Jabari Redd and Londyn Carter, she said: "Will is such an incredible man, incredible actor, very generous. Megastar! You know when you work with Big Will, it’s going to be on like popcorn."

Will Smith is certainly still feeling nostalgic about Independence Day. In 2021, he shared throwback photos from Independence Day as he marked 25 years since the release of the alien invasion blockbuster.

The Hollywood superstar played Marine pilot Captain Steve Hiller in the film, in which aliens destroy major cities of the world and he must save mankind from annihilation.

Will shared a gallery of photos from the film, including a shot of himself and co-star Jeff Goldblum. He also treated fans to a picture of himself and wife Jada Pinkett Smith and his son Trey at the premiere. He captioned it: “25 years ago?!?! WOW!!”

The film made Smith into an international superstar but director Roland Emmerich and producer Dean Devlin revealed they had to fight to cast him in the film.

Emmerich told The Hollywood Reporter: “Ethan Hawke was on our list too, but I thought at that time he was too young. “It was pretty clear it had to be Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum.
