Dakota Fanning is currently starring in gripping new Netflix drama The Perfect Couple but the Hollywood star's own love life is a point of interest for her fans.

She plays deliciously rich and pregnant Stepford wife Abby Winbury in the captivating whodunnit which sees her star alongside Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber and Irish actors Eve Hewson and Jack Reynor among many more.

Dakota has been popular with the streaming service this year having also starred in Ripley earlier in the year. Little is known about Dakota's personal life while she has already been famous for almost 23 years having starred in her first movie when she was just eight years old.

Dakota, 30, chooses to remain mostly private about her personal life but there have been occasions where she has opened up about dating and relationships.

Back in 2016 she admitted in a chat with Town & Country magazine that she finds dating "horrific." The interview came in the wake of her split from British model with Jamie Strachan who she started dating in 2014, with the couple together for two years.

She also revealed that she liked to meet romantic interests through friends saying: "The way I prefer to meet someone is through a friend," adding that in that way they are "most likely not a freak."

She continued: "I find dates, in general, horrific. We have to sit there and ask these questions and pretend to eat a meal, and it just feels so stiff." She also described herself as a "very private person."

After her split from Jamie Dakota's next romance was with fellow actor Henry Frye. The pair kept their romance relatively private but were seen kissing and holding hands at a basketball game in February 2018.

It has however been some time since their pair have been seen together and Dakota has not been linked to anyone else since. While promoting Ripley in a chat with Porter, Dakota confessed that her devotion to her career can get in the way of her relationships with her loved ones including her family and friends.

Dakota then admitted she felt isolated while she was away from home: "I like being alone and I don't mind getting acclimated to a place, but I felt really lonely in a specific way. I felt like I was trapped. I'm sure other people can relate… It wasn't a unique experience, but I definitely went through a rollercoaster on this."
