Brooks Koepka, the LIV Golf star, has confirmed his return to the DP World Tour for next month's Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

Koepka, who has been predominantly involved with LIV Golf since signing with the Saudi-funded league in 2022 and facing a ban from the PGA Tour as a result, has made only a few appearances on the Asian Tour and Japan Golf Tour in recent times. Although he relinquished his DP World Tour membership, he's set to join the Scottish event through a sponsor's invitation.

The tournament, starting on October 3, will see him play at three of Scotland's premier courses: the Old Course at St Andrews, Carnoustie, and Kingsbarns Golf Links. "I've been fortunate to play in several Dunhill Links, as well as two Open Championships at St Andrews over the years, and these trips are always highlights to my year," Koepka expressed in a statement.

He continued to praise Scottish golf, especially his affection for St Andrews: "I love Links golf and St Andrews is my favorite course in the world. I could play there every day for the rest of my life and never get tired of it... The atmosphere on and off the course at the Dunhill is fantastic.

"I was able to play with my father one year and my good friend and caddie, Ricky Elliott, another. Those two weeks will always be very special to me," reports the Mirror . Five-time major winner Koepka is set to join a glittering lineup at the Scottish event, with Rory McIlroy also confirmed to compete.

The power-hitting duo, who have been at odds in golf's recent political rifts, are set to reunite on the links twice within three months, their first encounter being at the Dunhill Links. They'll face off again two months later in a PGA Tour vs LIV Golf clash in Las Vegas , where McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler will challenge Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau.

As for the Scottish outing, Koepka isn't the only LIV Golf player in the mix. He'll be accompanied by Tyrrell Hatton, another LIV Golf member, who has committed to an event he's won twice before in 2016 and 2017.

Hatton's participation in the DP World Tour is crucial as he aims to maintain his DP World Tour membership and Ryder Cup eligibility. The English golfer needs to participate in four events by year-end and has already competed in two, at the Dubai Desert Classic and the British Masters.

Hatton has also revealed his plans to participate in the Spanish Open at the end of September, followed by the Dunhill Links a week later. He hopes this will secure his qualification for the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and the DP World Tour Championship in November.
