The frontman of Foo Fighters surprised fans with the news that he had strayed from his marriage to Jordyn Blum, 48, and now has a baby with another partner, a child he intends to raise with 'love'.
Grohl made his shock revelation on social media , opening up about his new fatherhood journey and his plea for his wife's forgiveness. The 55-year-old rock hero, who is known as one of the kindest figures in the industry, seemed eager to maintain his favorable reputation among his fanbase.
Posting on Instagram this Tuesday , the rock legend stated: "I've recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness."
He further mentioned: "We're grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together. Dave," reports the Mirror . Furthermore, he disabled the comments on his announcement, preventing followers from leaving direct responses to his revelations.
Dave's marriage to Jordyn is making headlines again after revelations about his past behavior, including how he 'ghosted' her before eventually proposing. Insiders claim that after a few dates with Jordyn, whom Dave has been married to for 21 years, he suddenly stopped contacting her.
It was only after his late bandmate Taylor Hawkins urged him to settle down with Jordyn that Dave decided to propose. Sadly, Hawkins passed away in 2022 at the age of 50 due to a fatal overdose, more than two decades after he encouraged Dave to marry Jordyn.
Dave has openly discussed how he didn't call Jordyn back after their initial dates. Speaking to Q magazine, he recounted: "I met Jordyn one night in 2001. Taylor [Hawkins] and I were hanging out at the Sunset Marquis whiskey bar. Taylor was the looker. I mean, girls would send him drinks. Some bombshell comes up and starts talking to Taylor. I was just out of a Tenacious D session. I've got Vans trainers on, no socks, dirty shorts and a dirty T-shirt, surrounded by beautiful Hollywood," Grohl shared with the publication.
"She waved her friend Jordyn over. I was like, 'Oh my God. Not a chance! ' So I'm just having some drinks and acting like a jackass. And by the end of the night I was pissed and I'm staring at her going, 'You're my future ex-wife,'" he chuckled. "So she gave me her number: 'Jordyn, your future ex-wife."
Dave has been happily hitched to model and TV producer Jordyn since 2003, and the pair have three daughters together; Violet Maye, who's now 18 and was born in 2006, Harper Willow, aged 15, born in 2009, and Ophelia Saint, who's 10, born in 2014.
Jordyn is Dave's second shot at matrimony, following his previous marriage to photographer Jennifer Leigh Youngblood. That union spanned from 1994 until their split in 1997, with rumours swirling that Dave owned up to being unfaithful.
Reflecting on his first marriage, Dave confessed back in 1999: "I was 25, my wife was even younger. We weren't ready to get married. I miss her a tonne, she's the funniest goddamn weirdo you ever met in your life. Absolutely adorable. It would have been better had we not got married. But you live and you learn."
