Tina Basich has been spilling the beans about her time with Dave Grohl , claiming he was already playing away long before his recent confession of having a secret love child.
In a jaw-dropping turn for fans, the Foo Fighters' lead singer admitted to fathering another child while still married to Jordyn Blum . Grohl is reported to have faced up to his actions and is working on mending trust at home.
Basich, who once shared a romance with Grohl, had already laid bare her anguish in her memoir over him allegedly cheating back when they were an item.
The couple's two-year stint in the late '90s ended, as recounted by Tina in 'Pretty Good for a Girl: The Autobiography of a Snowboarding Pioneer', due to the relentless pressures his tunes took on their duo.
In her life story, Basich bares the emotional toll, confessing: " You can only give up so much of your heart and your career and your time and your spirit , and here I was, giving it all up for a guy and losing myself in the process."
Grohl's rumoured wanderings also come under scrutiny in her book, with Basich questioning: " I don't know how anyone in his profession can have a normal relationship with a girlfriend ...or two, as it turned out."
Basich was left feeling like the last person in on the news, and heard about the alleged cheating through the grapevine . Taking to her autobiography, Tina reflects: "Breakups suck. But rockstar exits are the worst."
Tina described their swift breakup, which happened over a quick five-minute phone call after she had spent "after five weeks of me calling and trying to get ahold of him because I just had to know if these rumors were true ."
Post-split, Basich couldn't escape memories of her ex-boyfriend. She went on: "I went grocery shopping a few days after we broke up and heard the elevator-music version of 'Learn to Fly,' which gave me an instant stomach ache , then saw him on the cover of Guitar magazine staring at me in the check-out line."
Grohl's recent admission of cheating came via an Instagram post where he disclosed: "I've recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage . I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her."
Maintaining his commitment to his family, he asserted: "I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness .
