A man's body has been found in a freezer in North Carolina. The alarm was raised on Tuesday when the man's co-workers found his body in the story's supply freezer at a Food Lion in Raleigh.

Cops rushed to the scene and later concluded the man had suffered a medical emergency on Monday night before he passed away inside the freezer, according to WFMY and CBS 17.

An investigation was launched but foul play was not involved in the man's death . The man's age and name has not yet been released.

It's thought the man had a medical emergency Monday night, before dying inside the freezer, a police officer told WFMY.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a Philadelphia police officer tragically died almost three months after being shot during a routine vehicle stop.

Officer Jaime Roman spent 80 gruelling days in intensive care without ever regaining consciousness after being shot in the neck . The 31-year-old died on Tuesday night, leaving behind a wife and a young daughter and a son.
