Prince William and Kate have £1m home right next door despite row over rights to royal mansion

Prince William and Princess Kate have quite the dilemma hiding behind their Windsor residence - an unused, run-down annexe that could answer their need for more space.

A well-placed insider indicates Prince William and Kate might be mulling over a refurbishment and expansion of the redbrick annexe adjacent to Adelaide Cottage, potentially striking them off the "consideration list" for Royal Lodge.

"There is quite a considerably sized property that has just been left abandoned next to Adelaide Cottage," the informer revealed. "If the Wales family decides to renovate the property, it will give them plenty of space and take them off the consideration list for Royal Lodge."

The royal pair, who settled into the Berkshire property towards the late summer of 2022, currently divide their time between the four-bedroom cottage and their cherished Anmer Hall retreat on the Sandringham Estate.

Although Adelaide Cottage boasts an ideal spot near Lambrook School, where Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are students, whispers suggest the family is contemplating the expansion of the deserted annexeestimated to be valued at about £1 million in its present conditionto accommodate additional living quarters.

This potential move, however, comes with its own set of challenges as the informer adds that the Prince of Wales is mindful of the public eye on Royal expenditure and is considering how to finance such renovations personally with prudence.

Sources reveal that behind-the-scenes plans for renovations at a Royal residence have been brewing, and with the Princess of Wales bouncing back to health, the Wales clan are biding their time before they launch the refurbishment.

"It's currently uninhabitable and needs extensive renovation works if it were to be used," the insider commented. "Discussions have been ongoing for a while about using the property as part of the overall cottage grounds, but it's just about finding the right time to kick the project off."

The Princess caused quite the stir among her supporters when she announced on Monday that she has "finally completed" her preventative chemotherapy treatments following an intense nine-month journey.

The princess made a heartfelt statement, saying it was a "relief" to conclude her battle with cancer.

In a video shared on September 9, we hear Kate speaking about her ongoing commitment to staying in good health and "remaining cancer free".

The update included rare footage of her three children she shares with Prince William.

Kensington Palace has been asked to weigh in.
