Chicago Sky's beloved talent Angel Reese has expressed her high regard for head coach Teresa Weatherspoon , commending the "amazing job" she's done in her debut year.

Weatherspoon, who transitioned to the top spot after a period as an assistant with the New Orleans Pelicans , has steered the team towards playoff potential. Currently, the Sky holds a 12-22 record as they vie for the last playoff berth against rivals Atlanta Dream and Washington Mystics.

With just six games remaining, including key matchups with both Atlanta and Washington, Chicago is pushing to secure their playoff spot, which kicks off on Sept. 22.

Unfortunately, they'll have to proceed without power forward Reese, sidelined for the season due to a wrist injury incurred during their recent victory over Los Angeles Sparks.

Amidst controversy, WNBA players have criticized the commissioner for evading a question about racism involving Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark.

Reese has also made a prediction about playing with Caitlin Clark, stating confidently, "I'm sure."

Reflecting on her first WNBA season after shining at LSU in college basketball, Reese lauded Weatherspoon's leadership, despite the team's initial low ranking, saying: "It has been hard because we were ranked 12th in the league so I thought obviously expectations were like low."

"Bare minimum. There was no way other than up, she continued, as she revealed the mood in the locker room when she was drafted earlier in the year. The expectations are high right now and I think its just pressure on not just the rookies and fanbase, but even my coaches."

she continued, revealing the atmosphere in the locker room when she was drafted earlier this year. "Bare minimum. There was no way other than up, she continued, as she revealed the mood in the locker room when she was drafted earlier in the year. The expectations are high right now and I think its just pressure on not just the rookies and fanbase, but even my coaches."

She also gave an insight into the work Weatherspoon is doing behind the scenes, saying: "I feel bad for T. Spoon sometimes because this is her first year [as our head coach], and I know she has a lot of pressure [regarding] being able to do this. She's been doing an amazing job and they have to realise that you have to trust the process."

"We literally scratched. We had Kahleah Copper last year on the Sky. We had Marina and she got traded. We don't have the team that we had last year. We're in a rebuilding phase and we're still [the] eight [seed] right now. We're going to continue to grow and be better because I want to make the playoffs so bad."

Reese also spoke about her season-ending prematurely, saying: "What a year. I'm filled with emotions right now that I have a season-ending injury, but also filled with so much gratitude for what is next. Although this is God's timing and not mine, I am finally able to give myself a physical and mental break."

"Through it all, I have showed that I belong in this league even when no one else believed. All I have ever wanted was to come into the W and make an impact. I can confidently say I have done that and will strive to keep doing so."
