Brian Warfield of The Wolfe Tones fame has hinted at a possible reunion for the band , stating they'd be up for reuniting if Oasis invited them to open their Croke Park gig next year.

Despite The Wolfe Tones preparing to hang up their instruments next month after an impressive 60-year run, Warfield expressed enthusiasm about the idea of joining Oasis on stage , saying: "We would be delighted. I think we will come back for that. I love them and I would love to be on there with them. It would be great fun."

The speculation comes hot on the heels of Liam Gallagher's playful suggestion that The Wolfe Tones could support Oasis during their much-anticipated Croke Park performances in Dublin on August 16 and 17 next year.

Liam and Noel Gallagher, who are set to reunite Oasis in 2025 with two already sold-out shows at Croke Park, have never shied away from celebrating their Irish heritage , with family roots in Charlestown, Co Mayo , and Co Meath .

As fans eagerly await the official announcement of the support acts , online chatter has thrown several names into the ring, including Fontaines DC, Blossoms, Manic Street Preachers, and Kasabian. But it's another legendary Irish group that's caught Liam's attention, as reported by Dublin Live.

Following a tweet from Liam asking "Beautiful people, what's popping? " on X, a user suggested The Wolfe Tones as openers at Croke Park. Liam's response was affirmative: "I'm up for it, let's do it."

The band themselves then shared Liam's response, accompanied by two green hearts and a tricolor. Liam's post quickly garnered nearly a thousand likes, with social media users expressing their excitement at the prospect. "Get it done Liam! I'm already buzzing for Dublin! Adding the Wolfe Tones to the mix would be the icing on the cake. Aslan too please!" wrote one fan.

Another jested: "All those English people who got tickets won't know what's going on," in a playful jab at UK Oasis fans who secured tickets for the Croker gig before dates were announced in Britain.Warfield previously expressed that the band had one remaining aspiration to share the stage with Oasis at Croke Park. He stated back then: "The main ambition for the future is Croke Park with Oasis. That would put the icing on the cake."

Warfield clarified that while nothing is confirmed, the band has made their eagerness to seize the opportunity known. He went on to say: "I don't know. We've already created an interest that we would love to do it. I guess it's up to them and their management. We would just do our spot opening up for them and they would be part of their spot."

He wrapped up by stating: "People want to see Oasis and they might want to see The Wolfe Tones. They would want to see each of us doing our own thing."
