Pressure, the impending World War II film spotlighting the intense 72-hour countdown to D-Day, has commenced shooting. Inspired by the West End play of the same title and revealed earlier this summer, the movie features Academy Award laureate Brendan Fraser as the Supreme Allied Commander and future US President Dwight D Eisenhower.

The cast is further bolstered with Andrew Scott as Britain's top meteorologist James Stagg, alongside Kerry Condon who plays Eisenhower's dependable aide Captain Kay Summersby.

Deadline has also disclosed additional casting news as production gets rolling; Chris Messina joins as US Meteorologist Irving P Krick, while Damian Lewis of Band of Brothers fame will embody Field Marshall Bernard Montgomery, popularly known as Monty.

An Instagram post from STUDIOCANAL gave a peek at the first set image.

Pressure's synopsis unveils the stakes: "In the seventy-two hours leading up to D-Day, all the pieces are in place except for one key element the British weather .

"Britain's chief meteorological officer James Stagg (Andrew Scott) is called upon to deliver the most consequential forecast in history, locking him into a tense standoff with the entire Allied leadership. The wrong conditions could devastate the largest ever seaborne invasion, while any delay risks German intelligence catching on," reports the Express .

"With only his trusted aide Captain Kay Summersby (Kerry Condon) to confide in, and haunted by a catastrophic D-Day rehearsal, the final decision rests with Supreme Allied Commander Dwight D. Eisenhower (Brendan Fraser). With only hours to go, the fate of the war and the lives of millions hang in the balance."
