A school community is in shock after a popular student, who recently showcased her talent on 'America's Got Talent', was tragically found dead under a bridge just weeks after her performance .

Emily Gold, an AGT contestant and member of the Los Osos High School's dance team that impressed judges and reached the competition's quarterfinals, was discovered dead along the eastbound 210 Highway in Rancho Cucamonga in California , US, shortly before midnight on Friday.

Disturbing reports from California Highway Patrol revealed that multiple vehicles struck her body, leading to a horrific scene by the time officers responded to calls from concerned motorists near Haven Avenue. Some vehicles involved did not stop at the incident, and one car driver faces scrutiny for fleeing.

In this shockingly sad event, the San Bernardino Coroner's Office is treating the untimely death of Emily as a suicide, it is reported. News about the heartbreaking loss of the high school senior was announced to the student body on Saturday through a statement from the school.

"Emily was on both our Varsity Dance Team and Varsity cheer squad, our thoughts and prayers are with the family as they grieve," said the school's Principal, Eric Cypher, in a heartfelt message. "Please keep Emily and her loved ones and friends in your thoughts and prayers," reports the Mirror US, reports the Mirror .

The community has rallied together in support following a tragic accident, starting a GoFundMe page in memory of Emily, which is quickly closing in on its $50,000 target. Friends and classmates have taken to social media to celebrate the life of the talented dancer, posting warm tributes and cherished memories online.

On Facebook, Samantha Shaw expressed her condolences, remarking: "Let it be known that she now rests easy although there were many that loved Emily Gold and even looked up to her," recognizing her lasting impact and adding that Emily's memory will continue to be cherished by her Grizzlies' peers and those who deeply cared for her.

In a moving homage, Samantha posted: "Emily Gold, thank you for all that you have done in this world. You have done more than enough. Claws up to you Emily. Claws up."

Mourning her passing, Mia Bustamante, a teammate from her dance group, conveyed her deep sadness on Instagram. Emphasising Emily's irreplaceable presence, Mia mourned: "You brought me the most beautiful form of love I could ask for. My best friend, my forever dance sister," illustrating the inseparable bond they shared.

Amidst their collective grief, Emily's dance team reminisces about the moment they captured the spotlight with their exceptional AGT audition in May. The team's performance not only awed audiences but also earned rare acclaim, prompting an enthusiastic standing ovation from the infamously stern judge Simon Cowell.

He expressed his admiration to those present, remarking: "It was absolutely brilliant," and commended the performance - "What I loved about this was first of all the energy. I think what I just saw is everything a great school should be doing, which is encouraging talent and friendship."

Simon also shared his reflections on the impact of their performance: "It reminded me of seeing the High School Musical movie and thinking 'every kid should go to a school like that."

The saddest thing is that we are rearing an entire generation of children that are so fragile and cannot handle criticism or being told no. I don’t know anyone under 40 whose battle cry isn’t, “I have anxiety!” FFS, raise your kids to be resilient.
