P Diddy's arrests 'impact' on black community as 'disappointed' lawyer releases statement

Sean 'P Diddy' Combs' legal representative has expressed their "disappointment" over the decision to arrest the rapper on Monday night.

The 54-year-old was taken into custody in Manhattan , New Yor k, following Homeland Security raids on his residences in Beverly Hills, California , and Miami, Florida , back in March. These raids were conducted in response to sexual lawsuits filed against him , the first of which was lodged by his ex-girlfriend Cassandra "Cassie" Ventura.

Marc Agnifilo, Diddy's lawyer, issued a statement after the arrest : "We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney's Office. Sean "Diddy" Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children, and working to uplift the Black community.

"He is an imperfect person, but he Is not a criminal. To his credit Mr. Combs has been nothing but cooperative with this investigation and he voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges."

Agnifilo concluded the statement: "Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court."

Damian Williams, the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York, has announced that an indictment against Diddy will be made public on Tuesday morning. "USA Damian Williams: Earlier this evening, federal agents arrested Sean Combs, based on a sealed indictment filed by the SDNY. We expect to move to unseal the indictment in the morning and will have more to say at that time," stated the official Twitter account for the US Attorney SDNY, reports the Mirror US .

On March 25, Diddy's homes in California and Florida were searched by federal agents as part of an investigation linked to his sexual assault lawsuits. His luxurious residence on Miami's Star Island was also subject to a raid.
