Prince William's 'cruel' response to Prince Harry's birthday message

A friend of Prince William has spilled the beans on the Duke of Cambridge's current feelings towards a potential reunion with his brother, Prince Harry .

The friend claims that the future king has "no interest" in reaching out to the Duke of Sussex at this time.

This revelation comes after the official social media accounts of the Prince and Princess of Wales sent birthday greetings to celebrate Harry's 40th birthday on Sunday.

The pal told The Daily Beast: "The honest truth is that William has no interest right now in reaching out to Harry and Meghan."

"He sees what Harry wrote in his book [his memoir, Spare] as unforgivable and, understandably given Catherine's cancer diagnosis, just wants to concentrate on his wife and family first and his job second. There isn't room for a complicated reconciliation process with Harry. It's not a priority."

While it's still unclear whether King Charles reached out to his son on his birthday, it's known that neither Prince William nor Princess Kate spoke to Harry directly.

After a post from the Royal Family's social media accounts, the Prince and Princess of Wales's accounts shared the same image with their own message to Harry.

As per the Daily Beast, one palace insider noted that the message hadn't been signed off with "W and C", indicating it wasn't personally sent by the couple. The source added: "It was just a company thing. Happy birthday blah blah blah."

A Royal source has explained the reasoning behind the Prince and Princess of Wales sending a public birthday message to Harry: "It makes sense for Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace to align themselves on a little bit of essentially routine messaging around Harry."

They added, "It shows William is willing to respect his father's seniority and do what is asked of him."

Furthermore, a friend of King Charles was quoted by an American outlet regarding Charles's feelings towards his son Harry: "The King has made it very clear that he loves Harry and wants to be part of his and his family's life."

Referring to Harry's 40th birthday message, they continued, "Publicly wishing him a happy 40th birthday is completely of a piece with that ambition."
