After airing on Netflix this week, The Perfect Couple has received mixed reviews. Viewers are saying it may be one of Netflix ’s most ' bingeable' shows ever.

Many viewers are calling the murder-mystery an ‘easy watch,’ some even affectionately calling it ‘trash TV at its finest.’ The Perfect Couple falls into the same category as some of the streaming platform’s other ‘easy watches’ like Emily in Paris and White Lotus.

The series has an impressive cast, featuring Nicole Kidman, Dakota Fanning, and two prominent Irish actors, Eve Hewson and Jack Reynor. Adapted from Elin Hilderbrand’s novel of the same title, the story is based around an extremely wealthy family living in Cape Cod, Massachusetts , who are preparing for a family wedding when tragedy strikes.

  • Different review sites have weighed in on their first impressions of the 6-episode miniseries. Currently, Rotten Tomatoes has given the series a 69%, but audience reviews are giving the show more credit.

Elizabeth D wrote: “Watched it all in one sitting! So good!”

Beth F added: “I loved the book, so I was super excited to watch the series! It definitely did not disappoint! I binged the show in one sitting! Very entertaining!!!”

Jeremy Z gave recommendations to fans who couldn’t get enough of the series, writing: “If like me you love Nicole Kidman in short bingeable mini-series like season 1 of "Big Little Lies" or "Nine Perfect Strangers," then I would definitely recommend this.”

Naturally, not everyone was as impressed by the show. Julianna T wrote: “This series was horrible. Not at all what it was hyped up to be. If you have 5 hours to spare maybe stare at a wall instead.”
