James Buckley, now 37 and famed for his role as Jay Cartwright in the much-loved sitcom The Inbetweeners, is totally on board for a reunion - with some sort of project involving the core cast now looking likely .

Sharing the screen with co-stars Joe Thomas as Simon Cooper, Simon Bird as Will McKenzie, and Blake Harrison as Neil Sutherland, the quartet has left a lasting impression.

Joe, who's now 40, has let slip that there's been chatter with creators Damon Beesley and Iain Morris about bringing back the laughs, and James is keen to dive back into Jay's shoes.

Chiming in with his own excitement on his At Home With The Buckleys YouTube channel, he said: "I know as much as everyone else. It's exciting though, I'm excited about the idea of it. I read about it in the paper, I was like, 'Bloody hell, it's brilliant.' In talks. No one's talking to me. Let's see what happens."

Meanwhile, Joe has also stoked the fires of anticipation by hinting about a possible reunion during his time on the Always Be Comedy podcast.

He confessed that the main cast has received pitches for their comical comeback and reckons if the tale is right, fans might just be treated to an 'Inbetweeners' revival.

Joe further disclosed: "All of us feel it would be nice to do. We're all still around, we're all still in each other's lives. We all still like each other. And if it was something that came up, I think we would want to do it. I feel like we all still really like each other."

He remarked: "We've all been able to go away and get various monkeys off our backs, in terms of things that we felt we needed to do other than The Inbetweeners to prove something to ourselves."

Joe confessed his own concerns about returning to his role, stressing the importance of staying true to the original for the fans. He elaborated: "Everybody's anxiety would be, 'Will it be as good?'. That is what we would be going in with."
