Peaky Blinders creator gushes about 'mind-blowing' cast of new movie

The creator of Peaky Blinders has gushed about the "mind-blowing" cast of the upcoming film . Steven Knight revealed he is delighted about the line-up for the movie follow-up of the Netflix smash hit starring Cillian Murphy .

Barry Keoghan and Dune's Rebecca Ferguson have been confirmed for the big screen version , developed off the back of the gritty, six-season TV drama chronicling the dark world of Birmingham gangster boss Thomas Shelby.

Knight, who is also behind new Netflix show House of Guinness following the infamous Guinness family - one of Ireland's biggest dynasties - spoke at The Royal Television Society‘s London Convention this week.

He told BBC Culture Editor Katie Razzall: "We’ve announced Rebecca Ferguson, we’ve announced Barry Keoghan , we’ve got some more announcements coming."

The full action of the highly-anticipated 2025 project, for which Murphy has undergone a major body transformation , was kept under wraps by Knight. He did tease: "It’s set in the second world war and it’s really good.”

Murphy is stepping back into the shoes of his iconic character but it's unclear what role Keoghan or Ferguson will play.

Knight has previously promised the film " will be an explosive chapter in the Peaky Blinders story , no holds barred, full-on Peaky Blinders at war.”
