Netflix fans are devastated as the prospect of Season 3 of one of Ireland's best shows is "looking less and less likely". The hard-hitting Irish crime drama starring Aiden Gillen and Ciarán Hinds made its way to Netflix this month.

Series one debuted in 2021 and series two came out in 2023 on RTE , with viewers dubbing it "the best Irish drama series in years". Based on real-life Irish gangsters, Kin follows the Kinsella family's run-in with an international cartel.

The stellar cast , which also features Charlie Cox, Clare Dunne, and Emmett J Scanlan has been pivotal to the success of the saga , set in Dublin . It seems, however, that Netflix's interest has not secured the show's future.

It comes after an unnamed source told The Irish Sun that the show's props are about to be flogged. The source said: "The film company paid for the props from Kin to be held in storage for a limited time, which is now up. Everyone was waiting for a new season to be filmed , but it never happened as the company who made Kin went bust.

“This stuff has been sitting here ever since, so it’s now going to be sold privately . There’s no auction, no website. It’s being sold off discreetly to private buyers.

“People who binge watch on box sets will find the Kinsella home looking radically different if they ever make a third season , but that’s looking less and less likely.”

Earlier this month, during an interview with UK chat show This Morning, Scanlan, who also starred alongside Cillian Murphy in Series 5 of Peaky Blinders, acknowledged there was “a lot of interest” in bringing the show back .

Meanwhile, the creator of Peaky Blinders has gushed about the "mind-blowing" cast of the upcoming film . Barry Keoghan and Dune's Rebecca Ferguson have been confirmed for the big screen version .
