Outlander's Mrs Fitz actress Annette Badland, also known for playing Babe Smith in BBC soap EastEnders, has landed a fantastic role in Netflix's hit series Heartstopper. The 74-year-old actress will return when the third season of the show is released this October.
Netflix favourite Heartstopper is a coming-of-age drama based on Alice Oseman's celebrated novels. It explores the budding romance between high school students Nick (Kit Connor) and Charlie (Joe Locke).
The streaming platform has also announced that Bridgerton's Jonathan Bailey, who plays the dashing Anthony Bridgerton, will join the cast as Jack Maddox, an Instagram-famous author who becomes Charlie's ultimate celebrity crush.

Netflix UK and Ireland enthusiastically revealed in April: "It's not just Jonathan Bailey joining Heartstopper S3, we're also welcoming Hayley Atwell as Nick's Aunt Diane and Eddie Marsan as Charlie's therapist Geoff!" Fans are eagerly awaiting the premiere of the next chapter of Heartstopper on October 3.
Earlier this year in February, Annette sparkled on the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in LA, where her Apple TV+ comedy, Ted Lasso, received several award nominations. The seasoned actress excels in the role of Mae the Landlady, adding her unique flair to the series created by Jason Sudeikis, reports OK! .
The star turned heads as she shined alongside her castmates at the award ceremony, where they were up for the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series gong. They didn't take home the accolade, which went to The Bear, but Annette certainly made an impression at LA's Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall.
Annette captivated audiences in an exquisite ivory gown that trailed to the floor, featuring gold embellishments, created by the London fashion house Bombshell. She styled her hair with ornate gold accessories resembling tree branches with leaves and further accessorised with elegant drop earrings, a golden bangle, and a sparkly gold clutch bag.
Fans flooded social media with positive reactions to her dazzling red carpet appearance, lavishing praise upon the actress. Enthusiastic comments flowed, with one fan posting: "You look amazing...what a lady."
Another added their voice, remarking: "What a beauty!" Compliments did not stop there, as terms like "stunning", "beautiful", and "gorgeous" peppered the feedback, and her gown was hailed as "exquisite".
Outlander is a historical drama show that takes place around the time of the Jacobite rising.
In the series, Annette’s character Mrs Fitz is the head housekeeper of Castle Leoch and faces an uncertain future after the dissolution of the clans and destruction of the castle at the end of season 1.
Heartstopper season 3 is coming to Netflix on October 3, 2024.
