A Walmart shopper shared her frustrations after being forced to make three separate transactions in different departments of the store on a recent trip.

@raisingreynauds shared a video on TikTok, describing her visit to her local Walmart as she puts the bags into her car. She opens the video saying, “Walmart thieves, count your days.”

The user says that she had to buy a $5 blackhead strip in the makeup section, an $11 screen protector in electronics, and her groceries in a third transaction.

“Ain’t nobody got time for that,” she says.

She blames the multiple different transactions in various parts of the store on “thieves.”

Her suspicions about Walmart’s new policy are correct - the superstore has checkouts scattered throughout the store. The most straightforward explanation is that theft is especially high in the cosmetics section, as well as the electronics section.

In some stores, checkouts in these departments may not be used due to staffing issues and other anti-theft software may be used, like security-protected packaging on more expensive products. Walmart has made big changes to its stores in recent years, as it has have seen the rate of theft rise dramatically, particularly at self-checkouts.

In the TikTok comment section, users are echoing her frustration with the policy that is not only time consuming, but annoying. “That’s why I stopped going to Walmart,” one user wrote.

@Candis wrote: “They locked my $10 makeup wipes in a box to take with me to the register. While I had items in my cart that were way more than $10. Haven’t been back since.”

@Sarah Martinez added: “If they can’t ring all my stuff up at one register, I will buy it somewhere else or order it online.”

There should be harsher punishment for thieves. Work, like everyone else and pay for your goods
