Stranger Things fans tell Netflix to release Season 5 now after update

Stranger Things fans are clamouring for Netflix to drop the eagerly awaited new season 'now', as a tantalizing behind-the-scenes teaser spiked their excitement.

The grand finale of the beloved show awaits in its fifth season, with fans itching to see how the thrilling escapades of Eleven, Max, Mike, Steve, and their pals will unfold.

Though the precise release date for the new episodes remains under wraps by Netflix , followers of the series have rallied for an earlier premiere, especially after the news broke out that an Oscar-nominated director is ending his retirement to join the production.

In a conversation with the Daily Beast marking the 30th anniversary of The Shawshank Redemption, Frank Darabont shared the reasons the Duffer brothers were able to bring him back to helm parts of the upcoming Stranger Things season.

Since working on Mob City in 2013, this marks Darabont's grand return to television. The creative force behind adapting The Walking Dead to the screen and pioneering its initial season, Darabont said: "What really dragged me out of retirement was that my wife and I really love this show.

"Our content now is so filled with horrible people doing horrible things for greedy reasons but Stranger Things has so much heart."

He added: "That positivity is something I really responded to. I haven't missed the business but I have missed being on set with creative people... It may well be one and done, but we've still got time."

It's got Stranger Things fans even more excited with the latest scoop that Frank Darabont is on board to direct episodes of the hit show's final season, reports the Daily Star .

A thrilled fan expressed their surprise on X, the new Twitter, writing: "How did I not know Frank Darabont was directing episodes of the final season of 'STRANGER THINGS'? I'm even more pumped to see it now!" (sic)

Others echoed the sentiment, with another commenting: "I had no idea that Frank Darabont is directing the final season of Stranger Things. This is amazing! "

While some can scarcely contain their anticipation, one fan made it clear by stating: "Need those new episodes now."

Darabont isn't the only big-name returning; earlier this year Shawn Levy hinted at his comeback with a selfie from the set captioned: "Hawkins ain't quite done with me yet."
