Verizon is suffering a "nationwide" outage, leaving customers without phone service or internet . Verizon says users have made reports indicating problems.

X, previously Twitter, has exploded with angry users relaying their issues. One customer wrote: "I’ve been stuck on SOS mode for 30 minutes now. I tried using their website for web assistance and their site isn’t loading properly .

"Second time this has happened in a month," while a second is in the same predicament: " I restarted my phone and everything, updated to the new iOS, still stuck in SOS ".

A third chimed in: "Central Illinois here and I'm in SOS too," and another gave their situation: "My Verizon is down in Southwestern Ohio".

Some users are demanding money off their next bill due to the mass inconvenience . One man stated: This is ridiculous we pay hundreds per month and we are unable to use our devices. Verizon, make this right.

"Can you issues us a bill credit? We needs to be able to use our phones for calls and texts for work and important family issues ."

Some wondered whether the issues might be arising from Hurricane Helene battering some parts of the States , but anecdotal evidence, drawn from tweets similar to the above, show many of those affected aren't in storm zones.
