A new teaser for a film starring Hollywood legend Liam Neeson has dropped, and despite fans noting that his character seems somewhat familiar , they're excited to see his latest action-filled adventure .

Even though some cinema-goers feel he's been delivering similar performances , there's still a buzz around his new project.

At the age of 72, Neeson has reinvented himself as an action powerhouse - largely thanks to the blockbuster Taken in 2008 and its sequels.

Neeson wasn't exactly new to the genre, having burst onto the scene with Darkman in the '90s, but it's clear there's been a pattern to his roles ever since - in The Grey, The Commuter, Cold Pursuit, and Memory, the actor always seems to play a man with a very specific skill set.

However, it seems the public hasn't had enough of Neeson-led blockbusters, as his latest film, Absolution, lines up to join the list. In this film, Neeson portrays an old-school gangster trying to reconcile with his children and rectify his past mistakes, all while the dark world of crime refuses to let him go without a fight.

The trailer provides a glimpse of Neeson dealing with a medical update, reaching out to his estranged daughter, and getting involved in a shady deal.

After an endorsement on X, the platform that replaced Twitter, one enthusiast expressed enthusiasm for Neeson's upcoming film despite similar roles, saying: "He's been playing the same character in every movie and it always interests me."

Another chimed in with praise: " Liam Neeson will always play an older guy that can scrap and I will always watch it."

Joining Neeson in the cast is Ron Perlman, celebrated for his performances in Guillermo del Toro's Hellboy series and as Clay Morrow in the acclaimed TV series Sons of Anarchy.
