Oven doors can be a nightmare to clean but there's a "magic" trick that can remove tough stains with ease and without endless scrubbing.

Neglected oven windows quickly accumulate baked-on food particles, oil, and grease, creating stubborn blemishes on the glass that are notoriously hard to shift.

But cleaning guru and Polished Habitat founder Melissa George reveals that tackling grimy oven stains is a breeze with Mr Clean's secret weapon , the Magic Eraser.

Melissa advises: "Is your oven glass dirty? Try this simple and affordable tip for cleaning your oven window without spray chemicals." The Magic Eraser by Mr Clean, crafted from abrasive melamine foam, erases those tenacious stains just by gently rubbing them away, allowing you to eschew harsh chemical cleaners when sprucing up your oven, reports the Express .

Melissa swears by a certain technique to wield the Magic Eraser most effectively, ensuring even old, set-in stains disappear, leaving your oven sparkling in no time.

She explains: "Because we had years of gunk, including the brief, but scary, fire hitting the door, I did have to use some heavy pressure in places. How to cleanse your oven glass door using magic erasers: For a spotless oven door, arm yourself with a pair of Magic Erasersone dry and the other slightly wetto banish those persistent, stuck-on stains."

Melissa continued: "I found alternating between wet and dry Magic Erasers worked the best to get rid of all the grime. If your oven is in anything near the Code Red situation mine was, you're going to want two Magic Erasers for this job.

Similar to a pencil eraser, they break down as you use them. Then it's just about lightly buffing the sponges over the grimy surface, swapping them out as they wear down.

You'll want to focus on gently working over a small area at a time; going back and forth over a large space won't be as effective since you can't apply enough pressure. But after an estimated 10 minutes, you can expect your oven door to look spotless, clear of any burnt marks with minimal elbow grease.
