Tiger Woods' latest business venture could distract from LIV Golf talks

Tiger Woods is making moves in the Lone Star State, announcing his collaboration with Bluejack Ranch to create a second golf course in Aledo, Texas .

At 48, the golf superstar stated on Thursday that he's joining forces once more with the Bluejack National and locals Andy and Kristin Mitchell for a new design project .

On their website, Woods expressed: "I'm grateful for the encore opportunity to reteam with Bluejack National and home-towners Andy and Kristin Mitchell to design a course around this incredibly special property and community."

Woods further remarked: "It's extremely motivating for me to contribute to the golfing legacy of Fort Worth, and I'm excited to see what we'll build together. We'll share more after our next design meeting in Aledo."

Aside from launching new golf projects, Woods continues as one of the key PGA Tour figures engaging in negotiations with Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) seeking an arrangement with LIV Golf regarding a possible merger, a dialogue that's been active for over twelve months with Woods at the pivotal centre but still discovering fresh pursuits to engage in.

In other developments, Woods is gearing up to launch a groundbreaking golf league this coming January, teaming up with Rory McIlroy . The TGL, a high-tech league, will showcase 24 elite PGA Tour pros competing in weekly televised events within a specially-designed arena in Florida .

Woods and McIlroy have teamed up with esteemed golf architect Beau Welling to design virtual holes for an innovative 1,500-seater SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens. The duo will be joined by top golfers such as Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, and Justin Rose.

Engaged heavily in new course designs, readying the launch of TGL, and promoting his clothing brand Sun Day Red, Woods is finding less time for traditional play. Adopting a limited schedule nowadays, he is set to tee off next at the Hero World Challenge on Dec. 5.

Even as his presence on the golf course may be waning, Woods has been given the hefty responsibility of safeguarding the sport's future. Since PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan and Saudi official Yasir Al-Rumayyan surprised many with the announcement of a preliminary agreement last June, theres been much anticipation around their discussions with PIF.

Nearly a year and a half on, the ink hasn't dried on the deal, but Woods was reportedly engaged in recent conversations with PIF representatives in New York, as per ESPN's coverage. Woods gave sparse details during The Open Championship in July, commenting: "I can tell you we're making progress. I can't tell you more than that just because we're not going to negotiate on the outside."

He also mentioned, "We've got to keep everything at a high level and private, but things are moving and things are changing... There's a good interchange of ideas and thoughts on how the game could look going forward. It's just a matter of putting that all together legally."

"Obviously we have the DOJ with oversight looking into that as well and making sure that we don't do anything improperly there, as well, but also making sure that all the players benefit from this as well as everyone who's involved. They want to make money as well. They want to make that return."
