How Kate Middleton 'saved' Prince William and strengthened their Royal bond

Kate Middleton has been hailed as Prince William's savior following his "dysfunctional" upbringing , with a Royal commentator noting her lifetime commitment to his happiness.

The couples romance sparked during their college days at St Andrews University in Scotland, where friendship turned to love.

They have since celebrated over ten years of marriage and cherish their roles as parents to Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis .

Discussing their partnership, Royal writer Angela Levin remarked: "I think that Kate has helped save William. I think it was very difficult for him coming out of a dysfunctional family, losing his mum so young and I think he was in a very difficult place."

Levin went on to acknowledge Kate's profound influence on Williams life and duties, elaborating: "She has really encouraged him."

Angela observed: "Her whole life is to make him happy, I think. She found things that really made him feel important and worthy rather than just going to cut ribbons. I think she has helped him to be a husband by introducing him to her own family a lot and spending time with a normal family and being a dad."

Kate is famously tight with her folks, Michael and Carole Middleton, who've been a rock for her during her cancer fight. William's gotten proper chummy with the Middletons too.

Royal expert Duncan Larcombe dished to The Mirror that William's pretty much like another son to Carole and Michael. He spilled: "One of the things that has clearly strengthened William and Kate's relationship from the beginning was the fact that Kate came from a very tight-knit family."

He added: "It is something that he has kind of lacked in his life, obviously losing his mother. So it is only natural [Carole and Michael] will step into the breach and support [the Waleses] throughout this in every way. The Middletons are the perfect antidote really to the pomp and pageantry of the Royal Family, because they are quite an ordinary family unit, which will be important to help aid Kate's recovery."

The love story of William and Kate kicked off at St Andrews University back in 2001, where they both started the same course and shared a hall. It was Kate's turn on the catwalk for a charity do in March 2002 that really set their romance ablaze.

The Prince allegedly splashed out £220 for a prime spot at the fashion show, and it seems it was money well spent. As 19 year old Kate confidently strode down the catwalk in a daring sheer dress and black lingerie, William was reportedly taken aback.

According to sources, he turned to his companion Fergus Boyd and discreetly remarked: "Wow, Fergus, Kate's hot!"
