The highly-anticipated Joker 2 seems to have fallen short . The movie which was released this week, has made history but not for something to be proud of.

The film starring Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck or 'Joker' is the sequel to the 2019 film , which was a huge hit and even earned Phoenix the Academy Award for Best Actor. Fans were excited to see the second film, this time featuring Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn. However, it seems even the stellar cast were unable to save the movie, which fans are calling “a huge disappointment.”

Joker: Folie à Deux made history this week when it received a D CinemaScore from opening day audience polling. This puts the film at the lowest rating ever received by a comic book movie. The film received a worse rating than Madame Web, which famously failed to impress audiences this year.

Rotten Tomatoes has followed a similar pattern, giving the film an overall score of 32% from both critics and audience members. CinemaScore is a market research firm based in Las Vegas . It surveys film audiences to rate their viewing experiences with letter grades.

The Joker sequel enjoyed a massive budget of $200 million - four times the size of the first Joker film. However, it has fallen short in a huge way in terms of opening weekend ticket sales. Early box office predictions pointed towards a $100 million opening, but paled in comparison, bringing in an estimated $47 million, according to The Wrap.
