Whipping up a delicious batch of bacon may seem straightforward, but pan-frying often leads to unevenly cooked, excessively oily strips that are more chewy than crisp. The splatter from the oil doesn't help either.

But Natasha Kravchuk, the culinary creative behind Natasha's Kitchen, has found a superior technique for cooking irresistible bacon without the mess and hassle associated with oil and frying pans.

Natasha revealed her top tip : "The air fryer method is so much easier to make than stovetop or baking in the oven because it's quick, less messy and there's no need to pre-heat the oven."

Turning to an air fryer not only results in healthier bacon, but also gives a major boost in terms of flavour and texture.

The issue with conventional methods is they often cook the fat too quickly, causing it to burn while leaving other parts underdone. With an air fryer, the bacon enjoys an even all-around cook due to the hot circulating air, negating the need for flipping and resulting in perfect crispy goodness every time.

Natasha enthused: "Making air fryer bacon is so EASY! Enjoy crisp and evenly cooked bacon in under 10 minutes with the easiest cleanup."

To whip up bacon in an air fryer, just place a layer of baking paper inside the basket or on the tray. Stack your streaks of bacon atop the parched sheet, ensuring no overlapping occurs.

Dial it up to 180C and let the machine run its course for seven minutes. Your air fryer model may vary slightly, but seven minutes typically does the trick.

    Craving crunchier strips?

Nudge your timer nearer to eight or nine minutes, and if you're dealing with thicker cuts, aim for 10 to 12 minutes.

When time's up, move your bacon onto paper towels to soak up surplus grease, then lay it out on toast or directly onto a plate.

You'll relish in bacon that's not only crispier and more scrumptious but also marginally healthier, given that oil's not part of the equation.

Another top draw of this technique is the clean-up - you're spared any intense scrubbing of oily pans. Just strip off the baking paper and bin it for a fuss-free finish.
