Prince Harry's brutal '11 word' response when asked if he'd return to Royal Family

Speculation has been ongoing about whether Prince Harry would ever return to his official Royal duties since he stepped down from the Royal Family.

Despite leaving the monarchy, the Duke of Sussex has continued to dedicate himself to a "life of service", working with charities and causes close to his heart, such as Sentebale and the Invictus Games. When King Charles and Kate Middleton were undergoing cancer treatment and unable to carry out their public duties, the idea of Harry returning part-time to fill in for the senior royals was raised again.

Although sources quickly dismissed this idea, Harry flew back to the UK as soon as his father's condition was announced, expressing gratitude for the chance to see Charles. However, they have not reunited since.

When Harry's memoir Spare was released in early 2023, he was directly asked about the possibility of returning to the Royal Family during a book promotion interview. The Duke of Sussex gave a straightforward answer, summing up his feelings on the matter.

"No. I don't think it is ever going to be possible," Harry remarked. He went on to explain: "Even if there is an agreement or an arrangement between me and my family, there is that third party that is going to do everything they can to make sure that isn't possible. Not stopping us going back, but making it unsurvivable," reports the Mirror US .

While expressing reservations about a return to the Royal Family, Prince Harry conveyed his hopes for "reconciliation" with his brother, Prince William, and other family members during an appearance on Good Morning America. He mused that King Charles' battle with cancer might end up having a "reunifying effect" on the family.

He further noted: "Throughout all these families I see it on a day-to-day basis the strength of the family unit coming together. I think any illness, any sickness brings families together."

In a recent rare visit back to the UK, Harry celebrated the courage of gravely sick children and their families. As patron of WellChild, an honor he has sustained for over a decade and a half, the Duke of Sussex attended the charity's awards gala in London.
