An Indiana couple was arrested on the suspicion of murdering their two children after bones were found in the yard.
Samantha Sebella, 31, and Steven Valle, 25, are being held in the Jasper County Jail for allegedly killing their children and burning their bodies in the backyard firepit. They were charged with neglect of a dependent causing death , abuse of a corpse and failure to report a dead body.
The investigation began Sept. 20. Police received a call from a friend of the couple claiming Valle confessed, “I killed my two kids,” according to an affidavit obtained by Law&Crime.
When the friend asked more questions, Valle allegedly said he and Sebella “smothered their first born but had drown the second born and burnt their bodies in the firepit at their house.”
Authorities then arrived at the home on Old Orchard lane in Wheatfield Monday where Sebella and Valle previously lived. The current owner, a disabled veteran, was blindsided by the event, Fox 59 reported.
Police have referred to the children as “undocumented,” meaning they were born at home without medical or government records.
Cadaver dogs searched the property, alerting at three different locations. Bones were then uncovered, and they were taken for testing to see if they are human or animal.
The Sheriff’s Office confirmed they were human.
Along with the alleged confession, police found incriminating text messages between Valle and Sebella. Law&Crime reported that on Sept. 17, she texted him saying, “GUESS WHAT BABY KILLER.”
She sent another message an hour later, saying: “You killed my kids cause you are a f—-t you never loved me.”
The next day, Valle allegedly responded: “Yeah I know the fire will be known for what you did.”
It was also reported that two of Sebella’s messages said, “YOU KILLED OUR BABIES I HAVE THERE DNA IN BODY FOREVER”, and ““They will know everything you took me to the doctor in 2017 to prove that I was pregnant THEY WILL KNOW.”
Valle has admitted the couple did have two children, but both died during childbirth. The first was in 2018, when he came home to find Sebella passed out with the child between her legs not breathing.
The second was in “some time” later, after she got pregnant again. That baby was said to have been born prematurely in the bathtub. He claims to have buried them next to each other in the yard.
Valle also alleges that the children were buried for 3 to 5 years, when he decided to dig them up and burn them. He wanted to put the ashes in a necklace as a memento, he said.
