Liam Neeson fans begging him to return for this major movie remake

One of Liam Neeson’s most successful films is getting a reboot, and fans want him to reprise his iconic role .

The Irish actor is known for his range, from his work in Westerns to his fast-paced action films . The now 70-year-old is still making movies, and he has no plans to quit anytime soon .

That’s good news for fans of The Chronicles of Narnia. The 1950s novel by CS Lewis was made into a film in 2005, and now it’s getting another adaptation, with Greta Gerwig as director.

The original film, based on the first book of the series The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, centers around a group of siblings during World War II who find that going through a wardrobe in their new house sends them to a mythical world called Narnia.

The alternate reality, where it’s always winter, was created by Aslan the lion, voiced by Neeson. It is one of his highest grossing movies, earning $745 million at the box office. Two more installments were made in 2008 and 2010.

The new movie comes from a collaboration with Netflix and Gerwig, the director of the hit 2023 movie Barbie. While the series has been confirmed, there are still few details available.

Some fans have pleaded that Neeson come back as Aslan, as his booming voice is perfect for the stoic leader.

One user wrote on X: “If Liam Neeson isn’t going to be Aslan in Greta Gerwig’s Narnia movie then I’m not watching it." Another had a similar reaction when the news broke, saying: “If Liam Neeson isn’t Aslan, it's not Narnia.”

A less-than-pleased fan of the story added: “Netflix needs to keep their greedy, filthy hands off of Narnia. And no one can replace Liam Neeson as Aslan.”

Someone else penned: “I prefer the Narnia movies to the books too. The casting is perfect. Liam Neeson is the definitive voice of Aslan.”
