A Spirit Airlines passenger has claimed that she and her friend were asked to leave a plane because of what they were wearing.

Tara Kehidi filmed the experience and shared it on her TikTok account. She and her friend, Teresa, sat in the airport as they explained how they had been “kicked off” their flight.

“We literally just got kicked off for crop tops ,” she said.

“Since when is this disturbing anyone?” she continued, showing the shirt she was wearing. “It is 2024 and women are still being discriminated against.”

Kehidi explained that other passengers on board defended the two girls, and “had their backs” but they were still asked to leave. “No refund, nothing.”

Kehidi continued that she was forced to pay a thousand dollars to rebook flights with another airline, because Spirit, “refused to rebook or refund us.”

Spirit Airlines told CNN that they are currently investigating the incident, and said they are in contact with the guests about their experience. However, the airline also cited its contract of carriage - “a document all guests agree to upon making a reservation with us, includes certain clothing standards for all guests traveling with us.”
