Erik Menendez’s attorney for his 1990’s murder trial has spoken out about Ryan Murphy’s new show Monsters.

Leslie Abramson, who defended Erik Menendez when he and his brother Lyle Menendez were charged with murder in the 1990's, is included in the hit show Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story directed by Ryan Murphy.

When asked if she has seen the show, Abramson, who is played by Ari Gaynor, revealed that she has not watched the 2024 Netflix show and isn't planning on it.

“That piece of s*** I heard about? No, I don't watch any of those. No, and I didn’t watch the last series and I don’t watch any of the shows about it,” she said while being recorded in a parking lot.

When asked how she felt about the brothers possibly getting their case renewed, Leslie said she had no comment. “I will make no comments about my client,” she said. “None whatsoever.”

“Attorney client privilege never dies,” she added.

The 81-year-old did give a written statement about the brothers in the new documentary The Menendez Brothers on Netflix.

“30 years is a long time,” she wrote in an email shown in the documentary. “I’d like to leave the past in the past. No amount of media, nor teenage petitions will alter the fate of these clients. Only the court can do that and they have ruled.”

In the 2017 Law & Order True Crime : The Menendez Murders , Abramson was portrayed by actress Edie Falco, who received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a limited series or movie for the role.

Murphy’s Netflix hit put lots of attention back on the case recently, after the brothers have spent over 30 years behind bars.
