The National Park Service has shared harrowing bodycam footage of a park ranger’s conversation with Gabby Petito just weeks before her murder in 2021.

Petito was killed by her fiance Brian Laundrie in 2021, while they were traveling together on a ‘van-life’ journey across the United States. The pair were confronted by police and park rangers at a traffic stop outside Arches National Park in Utah on August 12.

The videos were released to Fox News Digital as part of a public records request. They provide a heart wrenching glimpse into one of Gabby’s last recorded interactions and a female ranger's efforts to calm Petito down while she cries about an argument with Laundrie.

Throughout the video, Petito repeatedly downplays Laundrie’s behavior. Witnesses told police that he struck her in public, then attempted to drive off without her at a grocery store. She vented her frustrations to the ranger but insisted the incident was caused by her hitting him first, while he was driving the car, causing him to crash into the curb.

"He's a lot stronger than me," she said, denying that she could have hurt him.

In the video, a male officer can be heard telling Petito: "Look I’m gonna speak to you…I'm looking at you not so much like a suspect, but also kind of a victim, in the sense that you're dealing with the struggles, emotionally and mentally at your age, probably that work themselves out as you get older.”

The footage was recorded on August 12, and Petito was reported missing on August 27. After an extensive search and investigation into Laundrie, her remains were found in Wyoming's Bridger–Teton National Forest on September 19. An autopsy found that she was killed by blunt-force injuries to her head and neck and manual strangulation.

About a month later, Laundrie’s remains were found in Florida's Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park. It was determined that he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
